Can I get a restraining order against a same-sex partner?
You can apply for a domestic abuse restraining order against a current or former same-sex partner if you meet the usual requirements for getting an order, which are that:
- you or your child is a victim of domestic abuse or your child is the victim of sexual exploitation; and
- your relationship with the abuser is one of the types of relationships listed in Am I eligible? Do I file in family court or district court?
