A Safe Place
Alameda County Family Justice Center
The Alameda County Family Justice Center has over 30 agencies and programs in one location. They provide services to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, child and elder abuse, dependent adult abuse, commercially exploited minors, and stalking. Service include: counseling for domestic violence and sexual assault, children’s counseling, restraining orders, case management, safety planning, shelter/housing assistance, help with application for Victims Compensation Program, legal advice clinic, and more.
BAWAR (Bay Area Women Against Rape)
BAWAR serves survivors of sexual violence in Alameda County. Their Sexual Assault Response Team advocates provide support to survivors at the hospital, during police interviews, at forensic medical exams, and with accompaniment at the police station and court. Additional services include assistance with victim’s compensation applications, peer support, referrals to mental health services, and a program for minors and young adults experiencing sexual exploitation/human trafficking.
Building Futures
Building Futures helps individuals and families who are experiencing homelessness and domestic violence. Their domestic violence services are for survivors of all gender identities and include: a 24-hour hotline, confidential shelter, support groups and counseling, and referrals for legal and other services. The shelter offers residents three daily meals, transportation assistance, mental health counseling and therapy, referrals to legal and medical services, children’s programs, and more. Building Futures also offers permanent apartments to formerly homeless survivors of domestic violence with deep needs, in addition to other housing programs for persons experiencing homelessness.
DeafHope
DeafHope provides comprehensive advocacy to Deaf survivors of domestic and sexual violence and their children. Services include: peer counseling, support groups, community education for violence prevention, assistance with accessing community resources, referrals to legal services and shelter, and more. Survivors can make an appointment by email or by calling their videophone and leaving a message. DeafHope has offices in Alameda and Contra Costa counties, where they collaborate with the Family Justice Centers.
Family Violence Law Center
Family Violence Law Center (FVLC) offers complete services to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault in Alameda County. Services include: a 24-hour hotline, safety planning, teen education programs, child and family therapy, on-site response at medical sites and police scenes, and emergency relocation assistance for survivors in immediate danger. Legal services include: assistance with restraining orders, assistance filing for custody and child/spousal support, court accompaniment, attorney representation, and more. All services are available free of charge and in any language through an interpreter.
Narika
Narika provides services to domestic violence survivors in a culturally sensitive manner and in multiple languages. Services include: a 24-hour hotline, safety planning, transitional housing, support groups (some available in Tamil and Hindi), virtual healing groups (in English, Hindi, and Punjabi), job training, wellness workshops, and more. The transitional home offers housing for survivors and their children, including food, mental health resources, support in obtaining long-term housing, and more. Many of Narika’s services focus on culturally sensitive needs of immigrants of South Asian communities.
SAVE (Safe Alternatives to Violent Environments)
SAVE provides serves to survivors of intimate partner violence. Services include: a 24-hour hotline, emergency shelter, temporary restraining order assistance, court accompaniment, support groups, individual counseling for all gender identities, financial housing support, and more. Walk-in services are available, which include crisis support, safety planning, connecting with resources, and a safe place to rest.
Tri-Valley Haven
Tri-Valley Haven is a community organization that serves adults and children who have experienced domestic violence, sexual assault, or homelessness in the Tri-Valley area of Livermore, Dublin, and Pleasanton. Services include: a 24-hour hotline, emergency shelter for victims and their minor children, support groups, counseling, financial assistance, help navigating court system, mental health needs, rape crisis center, a food pantry, and more. Counseling sessions are initially free, and then available on a sliding scale.

Humboldt Family Services Center
The Humboldt Family Service Center is a non-profit community agency offering counseling services for individuals, couples, children and families. They focus on improving the quality of life through comprehensive, affordable, and professional mental health services, including counseling and court-mandated programs. The Center offers a child abuse prevention class, anger management counseling, and a 52-week batterer’s intervention program.

The Bureau of Victim Services provides essential services to crime victims and witnesses. Services include: crisis intervention, emergency assistance, counseling referrals, case status notification, court escort and orientation, and restitution assistance. Services are provided free of charge and there is no legal residency or citizenship requirement.Victim services representatives are specially trained to help children, seniors, persons with disabilities, and victims of sexual assault, domestic violence, and other violent crime. They work in courthouses and police stations throughout Los Angeles County and are available to provide assistance in several languages. Center for the Pacific Asian Family (CPAF)
The Center addresses domestic violence and sexual assault in the Asian and Pacific Islander communities, meeting cultural and language needs. Services include: a 24-hour multilingual hotline, shelter, transitional housing, counseling, case management, safety planning, crisis intervention, community education, and referrals to community resources. The CPAF shelter is multilingual, multicultural, and specializes in serving API survivors of domestic violence. The sexual assault response team offers multilingual advocacy, accompaniment at the hospital or rape crisis center, and a forensic nurse.

The Child & Family Center provides free domestic violence services for individuals in abusive relationships and their children. House of Ruth is a comprehensive domestic violence agency serving the eastern Los Angeles and western San Bernardino counties. Los Angeles LGBT Center - Survivor Services
The LGBT Center is home to two programs that provide trauma-informed, LGBTQ+-specific services to survivors of intimate partner abuse, domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking. The STOP Violence Program (SVP) services include: advocacy, a program designed for court-referred individuals, crisis intervention, emergency assistance, case management, individual and group counseling, and more. Su Casa provides long-term help to victims of domestic violence. The walk-in center is open during regular business hours for general information, resources, crisis counseling, and assistance with shelter. Union Rescue Mission (URM) is dedicated to serving men, women, and children experiencing homelessness. They provide comprehensive emergency and long-term services to their guests to help them escape the dangerous streets of Skid Row. Valley Oasis, formerly the Antelope Valley Domestic Violence Council, is a community-based organization dedicated to eliminating social and domestic violence and homelessness. Community Homeless Solutions is one of Monterey County’s largest providers of homeless transitional housing and emergency shelter beds, including shelter for adults and children fleeing domestic violence. They have two emergency shelters for domestic violence victims at confidential locations in Marina and Salinas with bilingual staff, and stays at the shelters range from 30 to 90 days. Additional services include: a 24-hour hotline, safety planning, legal advocacy, counseling for adults and children, case management, employment assistance, life skills development, clothing, food, art therapy, interpreter services, and more. Community Homeless Solutions also operates housing programs for people experiencing homelessness and a youth housing program.

Radiant Futures, formerly the Women’s Transitional Living Center, provides services for survivors of domestic violence and human trafficking. Services include: a 24-hour crisis line, short-term shelter, transitional housing, long-term housing placement, counseling, community education, legal advocacy, children’s program, peer support groups, and therapeutic art programs. Survivors’ pets are able to join their owners in shelter, either sharing a living space or staying in an insulated outdoor kennel. Standing Together to End Sexual Assault (STESA) is the former Santa Barbara Rape Crisis Center. STESA provides confidential counseling and support services to survivors of sexual assault and their loved ones.
