The Victim–Witness Assistance Division of the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office provides a variety of services for crime victims, witnesses, and their families as they work through the emotional trauma of their victimization. Information is available in English, Spanish, Chinese and Farsi.
Bay Area Women Against Rape
For persons in Alameda County who are dealing with the trauma of a sexual assault, we offer the services they need the most, experienced counseling and advocacy 24-hours per day. For the survivor we have a listener who will not judge, criticize, or be easily shocked. In-person counseling, accompaniment, advocacy, and support during the medical and judicial processes complete our response to the needs of the sexual assault survivor.
Building Futures with Women and Children
Services include emergency shelters, case management, assistance with housing and employment and follow-up care.
DeafHope
DeafHope provides crisis intervention services including peer counseling about DVSV, support groups, systems advocacy and referral to DVSV legal services and shelter. As we are often in court or in the field, DeafHope services are available by appointment. A member of our team is in the office every Tuesday from 10-12p for drop in services.
Family Violence Law Center
Family Violence Law Center (FVLC) offers complete services to residents of Alameda County, California, who are experiencing domestic violence. Services include: crisis support, transportation, emergency shelter, and legal and police advocacy. The legal team can provide assistance to file a restraining order, a child custody/visitation order, and child support order. FVLC provides free attorney representation for some cases. FVLC offers child counseling, help you keep your future address confidential, and may be able to connect clients to financial assistance to help them get back on their feet. All of FVLC’s services are available free of charge.

The Resource Connection
The Resource Connection offers crisis services in the form of the Calaveras Crisis Center. Del Norte
Del Norte County District Attorney’s Victim/Witness Assistance Center
The Victim/Witness Assistance Center provides supportive services to victims and witnesses of crime. Victim advocates provide court escort for victims who must testify and to victims and their families at the time of sentencing. Staff work closely with criminal justice agencies to provide victims with timely, accurate case progress information. Victims and witnesses are also eligible to receive other services that include: referral to other social service agencies, victim statement assistance, post-sentence and prison release information, as well as help determining eligibility for filing claims with the California Victim Compensation and Government Claims Board for payment of medical bills, counseling costs, lost wages, and funeral and burial expenses. The Victim/Witness staff’s role is to assist victims and witnesses in understanding the often confusing criminal justice system and to relieve some of the trauma of victimization.

YWCA Silicon Valley Crisis Intervention
YWCA Silicon Valley Crisis Intervention team serves as the first point of contact for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking. A dedicated response unit provides confidential crisis counseling and support, including walk-in services to receive immediate resources, emergency assistance, and referrals. We provide a 24-hour, seven days-a-week crisis hotline, immediate crisis counseling and assistance, information and referrals, and accompaniment services to medical, police, and court facilities. Our services are provided at no cost for all survivors of sexual assault or abuse, as well as their loved ones.

Santa Cruz County District Attorney's Victim/Witness Program
Services are offered to the victims of violent crimes and other eligible family members. The services provided include: coordination with criminal justice agencies, crisis intervention, assistance with claims reimbursement, counseling,
court escort, explanation of court procedures and case status information, liaison and referral to community resources, information regarding restraining orders, follow-up support to victims and their families, employer notification and creditor intervention, bereavement and injury notification, restitution information, victims’ rights. Available in English and Spanish.

Shasta County District Attorney's Crime Victims Assistance Center
The Crime Victims Assistance Center provides a range of services for individuals who are a victim of a crime in California and/or witness to a crime who suffers either financial loss or emotional problems from the experience. Included in the services which may be available to victims and witnesses are the following: Counseling; Emergency Assistance (temporary shelter, food, transportation, and medical care); Claims/Eligibility Assistance (with Victim Compensation and other programs); Justice System Information Assistance (such as assistance and support during court appearances and assistance in retrieving property held in evidence); and Notification Assistance (Assistance in the notifications of friends, relatives, and employer).

Sierra County District Attorney's Victim Witness Program
We offer free and confidential services to crime victims and witnesses: restraining order assistance (guidance in obtaining a restraining order), orientation to the criminal justice system (understanding how things work, case status/disposition (what is happening to the case and where it is in the justice system), court escort (emotional support in court for victims & witnesses), crisis intervention (counseling, reassurance and support helping victims cope with emotional trauma), referral counseling (directing victims to other agencies and resources for assistance), victim impact statement (help in preparation of statement for the Probation Dept which can affect sentencing),
creditor intervention (explanation to creditors and employer of late payments or work missed due to reasons connected to crime), Restitution Assistance (help in obtaining court ordered restitution), Filing Victims of Crime Compensation Claims, Property Recovery (returning property held as evidence), Restraining Order Assistance (guidance in obtaining a Restraining Order), and Parole Notification (when an inmate is to be released).

Safequest Solano, Inc.
We provide a 24-hour crisis line, a state-certified emergency shelter for survivors and their children, safety planning, case management, individual peer counseling, support groups, victim advocacy, restraining order assistance, legal and medical accompaniments, batterers’ intervention program, community outreach and education, children’s active arts, and volunteer training for domestic violence & sexual assault peer counseling. All victim services are free of charge, confidential, and offered in English, Tagalog, and Spanish.

Verity
Services include: a sexual assault crisis line available 24 hour a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year; Walk-in crisis counseling available weekdays from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM at our office – Crisis intervention including accompaniment to sexual assault forensic exams, law enforcement interviews, and court; Individual therapy and support groups, including specialized programs for military personnel and veterans.

Provides advocacy, free of charge, for victims of rape, domestic violence, and child abuse, particularly in the Latina and other under-served communities of Sonoma County. Also provides advocacy training and community education.

The YWCA Sonoma County supports women and children in abusive environments by providing safe shelter, therapy and on-going support for up to two years.

Sutter County District Attorney Victim Witness Assistance
The Sutter County Victim Witness office provides advocacy to victims of crime as they go through the criminal justice system. The office assists victims and families apply for reimbursement for medical, counseling, and funeral/burial bills; provides appropriate referrals; and assists with emergency needs of victims. Each year the office assists hundreds of crime victims and processes thousands of dollars in compensation claims.

Alternatives to Violence can help whether you are currently in an abusive relationship or recovering from domestic violence. We have trained staff available 24/7 to answer your questions, help you through a crisis or provide you with local resources. There are many locations throughout California, please call the office for a group close to you. Services include shelters, counseling, workshops, and 24-hour hotline.

The Coalition for Family Harmony
The Coalition offers a variety of services to assist survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault and child abuse, as well as family and friends of those suffering from abuse, and all of our services are offered in English and Spanish. Services include: emergency shelter, batterers’ intervention, counseling, legal services, community education and outreach.
Ventura County District Attorney Crime Victims’ Assistance Unit
Advocates accompany victims to court, provide a supportive ear, and display a calm strength to help victims get through court proceedings that can be frightening and highly emotional. With the help of Victim Advocates, victims can obtain protective court orders. Advocates also assist in processing, filing, and verifying of restitution claims filed with the California Victims of Crime Compensation Program. Skilled in crisis intervention, victim advocates offer an array of referrals to service providers who respond to the individual needs of victims.

Yolo County District Attorney Victim Services Assistance
Services: resource counseling and the referral to appropriate agencies, acting as a liaison between victims and the criminal justice system, attending court hearings with victims or informing victims about court proceedings, including information about restitution and court protective orders, assisting victims in preparing and delivering Victim Impact Statements in court at sentencing hearings, referring victims to 24-hour crisis intervention programs, assisting qualified victims with applications to the State’s Victims of Crime Program through the Victim Compensation and Government Claims Board.
