Based on a 2022 legislative change, we updated four questions in our Massachusetts State Gun Laws page and one question in our Massachusetts Harassment Prevention Orders section to add that a temporary or final harassment prevention order is now a reason to be denied a gun license. We also added information to What protections can I get in a harassment prevention order? in our Massachusetts Harassment Prevention Orders section about filing a separate petition relative to domesticated animals in which the petitioner can ask the judge to grant them possession of their pets and prohibit the defendant from abusing, giving away, or otherwise harming their pets. All changes made in English and Spanish. We also added a statute related to small claims court to our Selected Massachusetts Statutes page. Lastly, we updated the links to HRO forms on our Massachusetts Download Court Forms page.
