On our Texas Child Support page, we revised the question Can my child support order be changed? based on 2023 legislative changes regarding the ability of a judge to require an unemployed or underemployed parent to participate in certain activities if they are seeking to reduce their child support obligation.
On our Texas Custody page, we added the question What will the visitation order likely be when the possessory conservator lives 50 miles or less from the child’s primary residence? based on a new section of the law from 2021 that added additional detail for what a standard possession order is when the non-custodial parent lives close to the custodial parent. We regret the delay!
We also revised What is a standard possession order? and added the following new questions to make this section clearer:
- What will the visitation order likely be when the possessory conservator lives 100 miles or less from the child’s primary residence?
- What will the visitation order likely be when the possessory conservator lives more than 100 miles from the child’s primary residence?
- When can the managing conservator have the child during the summer when the parents live more than 100 miles apart?
All of these changes were made in English; Spanish coming soon!
We added the crime of “unlawful production or distribution of certain sexually explicit videos” on our Texas Crimes page in English and Spanish.
Finally, we added six new statutes to our Selected Texas Statutes page.
