Advocates can assist with orders of protection in St. Clair, Randolph, and Monroe counties.

Prairie Center Against Sexual Assault - Taylorville Office
Supports survivors of sexual violence throughout central Illinois. Services include: a 24-hour hotline, crisis intervention, medical and legal advocacy, child and adult counseling, court accompaniment, help with civil no contact orders, prevention education, and more. Serving Cass, Christian, Greene, Logan, Macoupin, Mason, Menard, Montgomery, Morgan, Sangamon, and Scott counties.

SWAN - Flora Office
SWAN protects and advocates for adult victims of abuse, neglect, and homelessness. Service include: emergency shelter for domestic violence victims and their minor children, rapid rehousing, parenting groups, support groups, abuser intervention counseling, legal advocacy, help with orders of protection, temporary shelter for homeless adults and families, and more. This location serves Clay County.

HOPE helps victims of domestic violence through housing, outreach, prevention, and education. Services include: a 24-hour hotline, shelter, transitional housing, legal advocacy, counseling, referrals, children’s services, and public education. The shelter and transitional housing do not allow pets but HOPE advocates may assist in making care arrangements for pets if needed

Anew: Building Beyond Violence and Abuse
Anew, formerly the South Suburban Family Shelter, provides comprehensive services to families impacted by domestic violence. Service include: a 24-hour hotline, emergency shelter, transitional housing, counseling, safety planning, court advocacy, abuser intervention program, and community education.
Apna Ghar
Apna Ghar provides programs and services to survivors of gender violence that are culturally appropriate for immigrant and refugee survivors. Services include: a 24-hour hotline and text line, safety planning, emergency shelter, transitional housing, case management, social services advocacy, counseling, legal advocacy, and supervised visitation and safe exchange services. They can help with orders of protection, filing for divorce/custody/support, immigration remedies though VAWA, and they operate a family law clinic in partnership with Chicago Volunteer Legal Services. Apna Ghar’s satellite locations are in Southside (773-697-3272), Swedish Hospital (773-878-8200 x 8747), and North Suburban (847-983-4099).
Between Friends
Between Friends helps adult, teen, and child survivors of domestic violence. Services include: a 24-hour hotline, safety planning, counseling, legal assistance, referrals to shelters, teen dating violence prevention program, and more. Counseling is offered in English and Spanish for children, teens, adults, families, and groups. Between Friends offers free legal clinics where survivors can get legal advice on orders of protection, divorce, child custody/support, and other family law and immigration issues. Their court advocates can explain to survivors their rights and options in English and Spanish.
Connections for Abused Women and their Children
Offers bi-cultural, bilingual services (English/Spanish) and programs for domestic violence survivors and their children. Services include: a 24-hour hotline, emergency shelter, safety planning, counseling, onsite crisis intervention at hospitals, legal advocacy including court orders and immigration, children’s services, and more. The Humboldt Park Outreach Program offers community based counseling, advocacy, individualized treatment plans, therapy, and more. The Haymarket Center provides services for domestic violence survivors with alcohol and chemical addictions.
Crisis Center for South Suburbia
Offers comprehensive services to victims of domestic violence. Services include: a 24-hour hotline, confidential shelter for up to 60 days, counseling, case management, transitional housing, rental assistance, safety planning, court advocacy, and referrals. They also offer a teen dating violence prevention program and a partner abuse intervention program. Most services are free. Crisis Center for South Suburbia is committed to being a safe and affirming place for LGBTQIA+ individuals. Services are available to all genders regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression.
Family Rescue
Provides comprehensive support services in English and Spanish to victims of domestic violence and their children. Services include: a 24-hour hotline, shelter, transitional housing, children’s programs, crisis intervention, legal and social service advocacy, substance abuse counseling, court accompaniment, and more. The Rosenthal Family Lodge shelter is for women and their children who are survivors of domestic violence, including their teen male sons, to ensure that they are not separated from their mother. The Legal Advocacy Program can be reached at the Centralized Domestic Violence Court of Cook County (312-325-9300). Legal advocates provide assistance with obtaining orders of protection and police reports, court accompaniment, medical and social service advocacy, and more.
Korean American Women in Need (KAN-WIN)
KAN-WIN works to eradicate gender-based violence through comprehensive, survivor-centered services, education, and outreach to Asian American communities and beyond. Services include: a 24-hour hotline, crisis intervention, safety assessment, transitional housing program, case management, support groups, financial empowerment program, children’s program, legal advocacy, help with obtaining orders of protection, referrals to legal aid agencies, and more. The hotline has bilingual English-Korean staff and is equipped to serve immigrant speakers of other languages through an interpreter. Case management services are offered in English, Korean, and Chinese.
Life Span - Des Plaines Office
Life Span provides legal representation, counseling, court advocacy, and immigration legal services to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking within Chicago and Suburban Cook County. Legal representation is offered for orders of protection, no-contact orders, divorce, and immigration cases such as VAWA, U visas, and battered spouse waivers. Legal services are available in English, Spanish, Arabic, Hindi, Urdu, Korean, Russian, and Polish, as well as in other languages through interpretation services. Individual, group, and child/teen counseling is available in English, Spanish, and Polish.

Neopolitan Lighthouse provides comprehensive support services to victims of abuse and their children on the West Side of Chicago. Services include: a 24-hour hotline, shelter up to 180 days, children’s programs, counseling, advocacy, case management, employment assistance, legal advocacy, and more. Their walk-in counseling program assists victims and their children in need of support services, but for whom shelter is either not needed, not appropriate, or not the option of choice.
Pillars Community Health
Pillars provides comprehensive services to adult and child survivors domestic and sexual violence. Services include: a 24-hour hotline, confidential emergency shelter, crisis intervention, medical and legal advocacy, counseling, individual/family/couples/group therapy, referrals, community education, and more. Pillars also offers culturally competent outreach and services such as support and empowerment groups for African-American and Middle Eastern-North African survivors. Services are free and are available in English, Spanish, and Arabic.
Sarah's Inn
Provides comprehensive domestic violence services in Chicago and the western suburbs. Services include: a 24-hour hotline, safety planning, emergency shelter referrals, transportation, housing assistance, legal advocacy, counseling for children and teens, individual and group counseling for adults, and more. All services are free, confidential, and available in English and Spanish.
SHALVA
SHALVA supports Jewish women experiencing and healing from domestic abuse through counseling, supportive services, and community education. Services include: a 24-hour hotline, individual and group counseling, legal information and support, financial assistance, information, and referrals.
WINGS Program, Inc.
WINGS Program provides services for domestic violence victims and their children. Services include: a 24-hour hotline, two emergency shelters, counseling, legal advocacy, assistance obtaining orders of protection, transitional and permanent housing, rapid rehousing, and more. Their Foglia Family Resource Center offers services in English and Spanish such as safety planning, individual counseling, support groups, and domestic violence education.
YWCA Evanston North Shore Survivor Services
Provides services to victims and survivors of domestic violence. Services include: a 24-hour hotline, emergency shelter, crisis intervention, legal advocacy, counseling, children and teens program, affordable housing support, financial education, workforce training, employment assistance, and more. They have legal advocates at the District Two Courthouse in Skokie who can assist with orders of protection and safety planning.
