Local Programs

Supports survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking. Services include: a 24-hour hotline, emergency shelter for adults, kids, and pets, safety planning, food, clothing, financial aid, help with filing protection orders, lock changes, cell phones, court accompaniment, and more. SAFE Project also offers services for student survivors at UW, WyoTech, and LCCC.

C.A.R.E.S. provide services to victims of all crimes, including domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking. They offer 24-hour on-call assistance; law enforcement can help victims reach an advocate after hours. Services include assistance with protection orders and victim compensation, accompaniment in court and interviews with law enforcement, guidance through court processes, referrals, and more. The office is located in the basement level of the Big Horn County Courthouse, and advocates speak English and Spanish. The Gillette Abuse Refuge Foundation (GARF) provides services to those affected by domestic violence and sexual assault in Campbell County. Services include: a 24-hour hotline, emergency shelter, food, clothing, victim advocacy, support groups, counseling,  help with protection orders, life skills programs, and more.

Offers free and confidential services for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking. The services include: a 24-hour hotline, crisis intervention, emergency shelter for victims with their pets, help with transitional and permanent housing, accompaniment to court hearings and medical appointments, individual and group counseling, emergency financial assistance, emergency transportation and clothing, and referrals to other programs. Services include: a 24-hour hotline, support groups, referrals to shelter, and client advocacy (legal/medical/in court/with law enforcement). Safehouse Services is a nonprofit organization that provides shelter and services to survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, elder abuse, and trafficking. They operate a shelter, facilitate support groups and advocacy programs, assist with protection order filings, and provide 24-hour crisis care and safety planning.  Serving the Cheyenne community.

Provides services to any victim of family violence, sexual assault, incest, child abuse, and human trafficking in Lincoln County. Services include: 24-hour crisis hotline, safety planning, help filing protection orders, accompaniment in court, emergency shelter (with arrangements for pets), transportation, school programs, support groups, referrals, and outreach. The Turning Point has shelters in Kemmerer and Afton, and an outreach office in Star Valley.

Provides comprehensive services to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse, stalking, and elder abuse in Natrona County. Services include: a 24-hour hotline, emergency shelter, assistance with protection orders and victim compensation, referrals, support groups, youth prevention and education programs, and more.

Project SAFE, Inc. provides assistance and support to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, and other crimes. Services provided include: shelter, transitional housing, emergency transportation, medical/legal referrals, victims’ compensation information, court escort, assistance applying for protection orders, child visitation, financial assistance, and more. Services include: a 24-hour crisis line, shelter, safety planning, financial assistance, accompaniment in court, assistance with victims’ compensation and protection orders, referrals, housing advocacy, and more. Serving Sheridan County.

Sublette County Sexual Assault and Family Violence (SAFV) Task Force helps individuals affected by domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking. SAFV services include: a 24-hour helpline, crisis intervention, legal and medical advocacy, assistance with protection orders and victims’ compensation, emergency shelter with pets onsite, counseling, financial assistance, referrals, and more.

Provides services for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, human trafficking, and elder abuse. Services include: a 24-hour crisis line, emergency shelter, help with orders of protection, financial and employment assistance, sexual assault services and accompaniment, safety planning, and referrals.

Provides services to people affected by domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking in the Jackson community. Services include: a 24-hour hotline, emergency shelter for victims and their children and pets, transitional housing, legal support, safety planning, medical advocacy, education and training programs, and more.

Serves survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, elder abuse, and child abuse in Washakie County. Services include: a 24-hour hotline, crisis intervention, emergency shelter for up to three days, counseling, financial education, help filing protection orders and victims’ compensation, forensic exam accompaniment, referrals for emergency medical assistance, safety planning, and more. Staff speak English and Spanish, and translation services are provided for all other languages.

The Wyoming Division of Victim Services (DVS) website includes a directory of service providers by county, including domestic violence programs, sexual assault nurse examiners, and child advocacy centers. In order to apply for crime victims’ compensation, victims must contact a service provider, who will help to complete the application and submit it to DVS.
