The shelter is equipped with a climate-controlled kennel next to the shelter, so that shelter guests can bring their pets with them to safety. Legal advocates can provide assistance in the civil and criminal court systems, including help with filing protection orders. HOPE has an attorney that can provide representation for domestic violence victims in the Allegheny and Westmoreland County courts; this includes child support, custody, divorce, public benefits, protection from abuse orders, and more.
