We added a Litigation Abuse page in Rhode Island that includes nine questions based on a new 2023 law that allows someone dealing with abusive litigation to request an order restricting abusive litigation.
We added a new question titled “Is there anything I can do if my abusive partner continually files court proceedings against me?” in our Domestic Violence Restraining Orders, Sexual Assault Protective Orders, Custody, and Divorce sections to help victims of abusive litigation learn about this new remedy.
We also added seven new statutes related to litigation abuse on our Selected Rhode Island Statutes page.
