In our Rhode Island Domestic Violence Restraining Orders section, we:
- Created a new question called How will the judge decide if my dating or living together relationship qualifies for a domestic abuse restraining order? that explains the factors a judge considers when determining whether certain relationships qualify for this type of order.
- Created four new questions that define certain acts for the purposes of getting a restraining order:
- Revised 25 questions to clarify the requirements and the process for getting a domestic abuse restraining order and to make it easier for users to find the information they need.
- Added charts to the questions What types of restraining orders are there? How long do they last? and Am I eligible? Do I file in family court or district court?, to make it easier to understand the types of orders available and when to file in family or district court.
