Based on 2021 changes to the law, we did the following:

  1. Changed the small claims court limit from $8,000 to $10,000 in our Indiana Suing an Abuser for Money page in English and Spanish.
  2. Added information to three questions in our Indiana Orders for Protection page about the fact that if an order for protection may affect a school’s ability to provide in-person instruction to the petitioner, the school must be notified and has three business days to respond and then a school representative can testify at the order for protection hearing before the judge can issue an order. Changes made in English; Spanish soon to come.
