Based on newly-enacted laws, we added information about child support lasting until age 26 for a child who is developmentally disabled and lives with the parent seeking support to What is child support? In addition, based on updates to the law, in our New York Orders of Protection section, we added the fact that an order of protection can prohibit the abuser from remotely controlling any connected devices affecting the victim’s home, vehicle, or property to What protections can I get in an order of protection?
