CA revised divorce

January 2019

Based on changes to the law, we revised our California Divorce page in English (Spanish soon to come) to include, for example, that a judge can consider:

  • a misdemeanor conviction when deciding whether an abused spouse has to pay alimony to the abuser; and 
  • whether the person convicted of the crime was actually the real victim.
