CA lit abuse

April 2024

We added a Litigation Abuse page in California that includes nine questions based on 2023 changes to the vexatious litigation law that now allow someone protected by a restraining order to take advantage of the ability to obtain a pre-filing order against an abuser engaged in litigation abuse.

To help victims of vexatious litigation learn about this remedy, we added the question “Is there anything I can do if my abusive partner continually files court proceedings against me?” to our Restraining Order, Custody, and Divorce pages.

We also added eight related statutes to our Selected California Statutes page.
