Places that Help: U.S. Virgin Islands

Sheriff Departments

June 1, 2016

Before a protection order can take effect, it must be served upon the abuser. In most states, protection orders are served by the sheriff department. In the U.S. Virgin Islands, protection orders are served by the U.S. Virgin Islands Police Department. You can contact the clerk of the court in the court that issued your order to find out the procedure for service if you are unsure. For a list of U.S. Virgin Islands courts, check the VI Courthouse Locations page on our site. Listed below are telephone numbers and addresses for the police department and precincts in the U.S. Virgin Islands. You may be able to find more up-to-date listings for police departments and precincts on the U.S. Virgin Islands Police Department website.
