Financial Info/ Economic Empowerment
AllState Foundation Purple Purse
Allstate Foundation Purple Purse is aimed at creating long-term safety and security for survivors through financial empowerment. They are making the invisible visible. Since 2005, they have been working to bring financial abuse out of the shadows so victims can get the healing and support they deserve. The program ignites fundraising for hundreds of national, state and local domestic violence organizations. Funds raised will support life-changing financial empowerment services to help domestic violence survivors build safer lives for themselves and their families.

The goal of credit.org is to provide a comprehensive online hub of personal finance education and learning resources that guide consumers in improving their personal finances. Their mission is to provide financial education to members of the general public and families and individuals in need. Financial education is the core focus of their organization and credit.org offers confidential and professional credit counseling, debt management services, bankruptcy education and housing counseling as well as online personal finance education and in-person seminars.
FreeFrom helps survivors achieve financial stability through advocacy work and their compensation program, credit building program, and entrepreneurship program. FreeFrom works with individual survivors to try to pair them with the appropriate resources in their state. Some of their programs have limited national availability, but you can contact them directly to find out what resources they can provide in your situation.
The Taxpayer Advocate Service
The Taxpayer Advocate Service is an independent organization within the IRS. Their role is to ensure that every taxpayer is treated fairly, and that you know and understand your rights as a taxpayer. Each state has at least one Local Taxpayer Advocate who is independent of the local IRS office and reports directly to the National Taxpayer Advocate. They offer free help to guide you through the often-confusing process of resolving tax problems that you haven't been able to solve on your own. The VictimConnect Resource Center is a place for victims of all crime to learn about their rights and options, confidentially and compassionately. VictimConnect can be accessed anywhere in the United States through a traditional telephone-based helpline and innovative text and online chat services Monday through Friday. Services are available in English and Spanish and interpreters for more than 200 languages can be accessed. Victim assistance specialists help people who reach out find appropriate national, local, or online resources. Additionally, victimconnect.org has information regarding types of crime, crime statistics, and maintains a searchable online directory for crime victim service providers.
