78A-6-507. Grounds for termination of parental rights--Findings regarding reasonable efforts

(1) Subject to the protections and requirements of Section 78A-6-503, and if the court finds strictly necessary, the court may terminate all parental rights with respect to a parent if the court finds any one of the following:

(a) that the parent has abandoned the child;

(b) that the parent has neglected or abused the child;

(c) that the parent is unfit or incompetent;

710.6. Violating custodial order

1. A relative of a child who, acting in violation of an order of any court which fixes, permanently or temporarily, the custody or physical care of the child in another, takes and conceals the child, within or outside the state, from the person having lawful custody or physical care, commits a class “D” felony.

They are a subsidiary of the Gulf Coast Women’s Center for Nonviolence, Inc., the women’s shelter for South Mississippi.

We are a nonprofit, free community resource center that provides support and advocacy for crisis situations for individuals and surviving family members of violent crimes including: sexual assault, rape, suicide, and homicide.
