El progenitor a quien se suspende la patria potestad pierde, mientras dura la suspensión, el derecho a tomar las decisiones sobre la persona y los bienes de su hijo que haya determinado el tribunal. Sin embargo, retiene el derecho a relacionarse con él en las condiciones que le reconoce este Código, así como la obligación de alimentarlo y de velar por su bienestar.
