Custody & Kidnapping

.A only visits one of our kids, not other 2. Is there a law against this?

NOTE: THIS WAS SPECIFIC WHERE THERE WERE 3 KIDS AND HE VISITED WITH 1. IF HE ISN’T VISITING WITH ANY, YOU CAN ADJUST THIS LANGUAGE TO REFLECT THAT
Do you have a custody/visitation order that says the father is to have visits with all of the children on certain dates/times. If so, and if he is not following the order, you may want to ask an attorney if you can file a contempt/violation petition against him. In general, there can be penalties for violating a custody/visitation order - these could vary from state to state and I can’t say how your state in particular handles this. You may want to talk to a lawyer in your state who specializes in custody to find out what may happen in your situation. It is often tricky, however, when the violation of an order is that the parent is not visiting with the children - it is hard to force a parent to want to see his/her children. Therefore, even if perhaps not taking all 3 kids may be against the language of the order, I am not sure if a judge would force a parent to visit with children that s/he doesn’t want to. If the father continues to not visit the other kids, are you thinking of asking the court to take away his visitation with the one child. If this is something you are thinking about, you may want to ask an attorney if the effect that the father’s rejection has on the other children may be something a court may consider when deciding if the father should be able to continue to visit with the one he sees. I don’t know how a judge would rule on this or if this would even be considered by a judge. Perhaps an attorney can tell you if there is a way to address this situation.

If there is no court order, I don’t know if the laws would address this issue. Again, you may want to get an opinion from a custody lawyer in your state since I can’t speak to your specific situation or to your state’s laws - I can only talk generally.
