Can non-custodial parent move without notice/permission?
In general, most states require the parent with whom the child lives to get permission to move the child or to notify the other parent prior to a move. Sometimes, if the non-custodial parent moves and it changes the terms of the order, such as the location of the exchange of the child or if it substantially increases one parent’s driving time to exchange the child, etc., this may be a reason that the parties may go back to court to modify the order. I cannot speak to your particular situation or tell you whether or not the non-custodial parents is supposed to notify the other parties if s/he moves because I am not familiar with STATE laws or how things are generally done in STATE.
