"Shuttle mediation" brief explanation

For some parents who may have a restraining order or where there is domestic violence, mediation might still be able to be conducted while the restraining order is in place, through a method called “shuttle mediation.” This is usually where each parent sits in a separate room, and a mediator goes back and forth between the parents to try and work out an agreement. This method avoids having to place the parents in the same room, especially if one parent is concerned about safety and/or the threat of violence/harm from the other parent.
