Custody & Kidnapping

.How long can a judge take to decide a custody trial?

Although I cannot speak to the specifics in your case, you may wan to ask an attorney whether or not your state puts time limits on how soon a judge has to make a decision. It may be that there isn’t a specific time limit because it may be assumed that it is in the judge’s discretion based on his/her schedule, other trials going on, any legal research that has to be done, etc. However, it could be possible that [STATE] has a time limit that I am not aware of since I am not an expert in [STATE] laws – if you believe that the judge is likely exceeding the time limit that you would expect, you may want to contact a custody lawyer in [STATE] to ask about this.
