If parents have 50-50 custody, why is there a c.s. order?

Although I cannot speak to your specific situation, in many states, the state will not issue a child support order when the time is split 50-50 between the parents. In other states, if there is a large difference in the income of both parents, there will still be a child support order - or if one parent is spending more money on larger purchases for the children, such as school tuition, camp, educational or medical necessities, etc., the courts will still issue a child support order. If you want to get advice as to whether or not the child support order that you have was issued in error, based on STATE law, you may want to consult with a lawyer.
