.Left abuse, still feels broken (info on support groups, message boards.) *

I am so sorry that you are going through all of this, and that you have been hurt so badly. I cannot imagine how stressful it must be and how difficult to start your life over after being abused for so long. Reaching out to talk to someone about what you are feeling is an important and brave first step, and I am glad that you have taken it by contacting us.

I am not sure if you have ever reached out to a local domestic violence organization in your area before, but if you have not, it may be a good place to start. They may be able to provide you with counseling, and support groups that are designed for survivors of abusive relationships to find strength in each other, and share their experiences to help each other heal. We have a list of local domestic violence organizations in your area here: [INSERT STATE AND LOCAL PROGRAMS PAGE] Some victims also find it helpful to participate in an online chat group with other survivors of abuse, which is more anonymous than an in-person support group. You can find out more information about different chat groups and how to join on our Chats and Message Boards page.
Also, the National Domestic Violence Hotline is a place where victims/survivors can call 24 hours per day to talk with someone 1-800-799-SAFE (7233).
