Is viewing someone's Linked In profile a violation of the RO?
Whether or not a specific act is a violation of a restraining order often depends on the exact terms of the order. The terms of orders may differ from case to case and we can’t advise as to whether or not looking at someone’s online profile would definitely violate an order or not. Many times, orders prohibit harassment, including online harassment. However, I do not know whether just viewing someone’s profile without making any contact or communication may come under your state’s definition of harassment or communication, in violation of an order. If you want to get specific advice on your situation, it is often best to show the order to a lawyer to ask for specific advice based on the order and your state’s laws.
