If A's lawyer contacts me about the court case, is that third party contact (in violation of the RO)?

I cannot give you specific legal advice since we only provide general information. I don’t know if a judge would think that an attorney contacting you about a petition you filed is third- party contact from your husband to you. Again, I cannot speak to your case or how third-party contact is interpreted in STATE specifically but often times, it generally may be when a person is not making contact with you directly, but rather s/he is doing it indirectly (through another person). Generally, “no third party contact” may mean that the respondent cannot contact you through another person (which the law is calling a “third party”). So, if s/he told his/her friend to call you and tell you to drop the charges or if s/he called your sister and told her to tell you that s/he loves you, these may possibly be examples of third-party contact. However, if you file a court case, and in response, his lawyer calls you, I don’t know whether or not that would be considered your husband trying to contact you. If you would like specific advice in your case, you may want to talk to a lawyer.
