Restraining Orders

A died - V asks if she has to tell court to end RO

Thank you for reaching out to us. Although I am not an expert in [STATE] laws, it seems like it might be unnecessary to notify the court to end the order. Basically, this just means that you will never be calling the police to report a violation of the order, since he can no longer violate it. So, even though you technically will still have the order, it will really have no legal effect anymore since the person whose behavior it was directing is no longer here to obey the order.

If you feel better about notifying the court, or if you want to call up to explain the situation and ask if you need to do anything, feel free to do so - here is a link to courthouse contact info:LINK
