Suing - Medical Malpractice

Client wants to sue doctor/hospital

Generally, when a person does not believe a medical professional did his/her job properly, that person may be able to file a suit for medical malpractice or personal injury.  Those types of cases are generally filed in civil court.  In a medical malpractice case, a person may be able to sue for money damages for his/her pain and/or suffering.  Although we do not have information about medical malpractice on our site, I did a Google search and found this site with some information: http://www.abpla.org/what-is-malpractice We are not affiliated with that site in any way but I offer it for your information only.

As you can see from reading the site, a doctor may be held liable for medical malpractice if that doctor’s actions fail to meet the standard of care provided by other health care professionals in a similar situation.  Since I cannot advise, I cannot say whether your situation meets the standard for medical malpractice, but an attorney may be able to provide you with more information or you may be able to determine that after reading the information.  Each state will have its own procedures for starting a case.  The clerk at the court in your county may be able to provide a person with the forms s/he needs to start a case.  I found this link with courthouse information for STATE: [TRY AND FIND A COURTHOUSE LINK]
