Can I leave the country with a T visa?*

T-visa and u-visa
• If want to leave US, need to consider that:
o needs to reapply for reentry visa – has to go through admissibility review again – if denied, no appeal. Could get stuck abroad (same for u-visa)
o Will eventually have to show extreme hardship if went home – what does going home voluntarily say about that?
o Has to have continuous presence for 3 years – can be gone up to 90 days at a time and total of 180 days (same for u-visa)
o If here at least 3 years and already applied to adjust status, can ask CIS for advanced parole document that gives permission to leave and reenter (same for u-visa)
