A asks if LL can remove him from lease due to DV

As you may know, a lease is a legal contract between two or more parties - the landlord and the tenant(s). Just like with any contract, if one party does something that violates the contract in some way, the other party may be able to end the contract or take other action. Although I cannot speak to your specific situation, it may be possible that if the tenant has committed domestic violence, this may violate a clause of the lease regarding the behavior that is expected of the tenants or a clause that talks about not doing anything to endanger other tenants in the building, etc. If you believe that your landlord wrongfully removed you from the lease, you may want to show your lease to a lawyer in STATE who is knowledgeable about landlord/tenant laws for advice.
