stealthing (nonconsensual condom removal)

EDIT THE FIRST SENTENCE AS NEEDED TO MATCH THE WRITER’S SITUATION: The behavior you describe where your partner removed (or pretended to use) a condom without your consent is something you have every right to be upset about. This behavior, commonly called “stealthing” has even become illegal against civil the law in California. There was a law review article about stealthing written by a lawyer in 2017, which brought this issue to light for many people. It is often part of a pattern of domestic violence, where the abuser wants to have power and control over the victim. You can read more about the forms of domestic violence on our website and you can even see a checklist of things that could signal you are being abused.
