Custody & Kidnapping

.We have joint custody - does he have to give me his address?

I am not specifically familiar with [STATE] laws so I don’t know if there is a particular law on this subject. However, if it makes you uncomfortable not to know the other parent’s address, you may want to ask an attorney if you may be able to file in court for a modification of the custody order to require that s/he provide you with his/her address and with a contact number so that you can reach your child in case of an emergency. Have you already asked the other parent for his address. If not, do you think that asking him/her for it may be enough for you to get it. Or do you think that if perhaps you let him/her know that if he doesn’t give it to you, you may file for it in court would encourage him/her to give it to you? Again, to find out for sure if this is something that a judge might order, you may want to talk to a lawyer in [STATE] who specializes in custody law to be sure.
