If sexual abuse is alleged, can father get supervised visitation?

Often times when there are allegations of child abuse or sexual abuse made, a judge may order supervised visitation until the allegations are investigated and the person is found guilty of the abuse or is cleared of the abuse. If the person is cleared, the judge may allow unsupervised visits. If the person is found guilty by a criminal court or by the state’s CPS division, the judge may stop all visits or may allow some sort of supervised visitation where a therapist is present or may make some other decision - it may depend on the type of abuse that was proven. Often times, a judge may have a psychologist review the situation and make a recommendation as to whether it is in the child’s best interest to have all contact denied or whether supervised therapeutic visits may be in the child’s best interest.
