V is being falsely accused of stalking - what can she do?

Although I cannot speak to your particular situation or give you advice on what to do, one idea of a way that a person may try to help protect him/herself from false allegations is to start keeping a daily log or calendar of where s/he is each day (what time s/he arrives and leave), where s/he goes, and who s/he is with in case the abuser tries to falsely file a report that s/he was stalking the abuser on one of those days or that s/he was somewhere else where s/he wasn’t. For instance, if the person that has the protection order abuser calls the police and says that two Thursdays ago, the respondent came to the their home at 1 pm, but the respondent can easily look in his/her daily planner and see that s/he was at a friend’s house at 1 pm or at the dentist, perhaps those people may testify in court and possibly help in the respondent’s defense to prove that s/he didn’t commit the stalking that was alleged. I can’t say for sure if this would help or not but an attorney may be able to let you know if this is something that may possibly be helpful in your particular situation.
