How can I register my custody order in another county (same state)?
The procedure for trying to register a case within a different county may vary from state to state - some states may require a motion and notice to the other party, so that party can object, before a judge agrees to transfer the case to a new court. In some situations, however, this type of motion may only be relevant at the time that a person is trying to ask another court to modify or enforce the court order from another county. Or, in other states, a person may first have to go to the court that issued the order and ask that court for permission to transfer it to another court – I cannot say what for sure. I am sorry that we don’t have specific information on what STATE courts require and as to whether or not there are certain requirements that must be met to try to transfer a case. Perhaps you may want to contact the courthouse clerk where you are trying to register the order and/or a lawyer in your county for advice. Here are links to both courthouses in STATE and lawyers:LINK
