A restraining order or protective order is a legal order issued by a state court which requires one person to stop harming another. In Missouri, orders of protection are available due to domestic violence and due to stalking or sexual assault.
Some restraining orders are issued in criminal court and some are issued in civil court.
A civil order that provides protection from harm by a family or household member.
A civil order that provides protection against someone who stalked or sexually assaulted you, regardless of your relationship to that person.
Your Missouri order of protection can be enforceable in another state.
If you are planning to move to Missouri or are going to be in Missouri for any reason, your protection order can be enforced.
