A restraining order or protective order is a legal order issued by a state court which requires one person to stop harming another. In North Carolina, there are Domestic Violence Protective Orders.
Some restraining orders are issued in criminal court and some are issued in civil court.
A civil order that provides protection from someone who you have/had a "personal relationship" with.
Your domestic violence protective order may be enforceable wherever you move.
If you are planning to move to NC or are going to be in NC for any reason, your protection or restraining order may be enforced.
