Donde Encontrar Ayuda
ACTUALIZADA 18 de octubre, 2008
Before your Order of Protection from Abuse can take effect, you must have your papers served to the abuser. The Delaware family court system arranges for a private process server to serve the papers for you. There is no cost for this service.
Contact the clerk of the court in the family court in your county for more information on getting your papers served. For a list of Delaware family courts, check the Courthouse Locations page on our site.
Listed below are telephone numbers and addresses for the State Police Troops with Domestic Violence Units in Delaware. While they are not in charge of serving court papers to your abuser, they may be helpful in enforcing your Order of Protection. Contact information for the sheriff department in each county is also listed. If you are in an emergency situation, call 911.
For more information on how to get an Order of Protection from Abuse, check our How to Get an Order of Protection page, or contact the clerk of the court in the family court in your county.
