To file for a Civil Protection order in D.C., go to the Domestic Violence Intake Center at the Superior Court. Information for the Intake Center is listed below, along with information for Virginia and Maryland counties in the area immediately around Washington D.C.
At the Intake Center, someone will provide you with the forms that you need to file. If you need assistance filling out the form, ask for help. You will also find links to online forms at our Download Court Forms page. You may also get help with the court system through one of the domestic violence organizations listed on our DC State and Local Programs page.

A domestic violence intake center will help you file the necessary paperwork and have police officers and advocates available to assist you. Hours of operation: Monday 8am - 4pm, Tues-Fri 8:30am - 4pm. Clerk's Office 9am - 5pm.
