If you are a victim of abuse, you may want to ask the Bar Association’s Lawyer Referral Service whether or not they screen for lawyers who are experienced in handling domestic violence cases. The office is open Monday - Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. The Alaska Bar Association operates a Lawyer Referral Service to help individuals find a lawyer. The Lawyer Referral Service does not provide legal advice. There is no charge for the referral. The lawyers who are listed on the service may charge legal fees of up to $125 for the first half hour consultation with the client.
