Included in this list are organizations that provide free or low-cost legal services to victims and survivors of abuse, as well as to others who qualify. Even if the organization does not have a lawyer available to represent you in court, you may want to ask if there is a lawyer with whom you can consult to obtain advice. We list the organizations by the county where the office is located, but many offices serve multiple counties. We indicate the “counties served” whenever possible. The University of Wyoming College of Law has many clinics focusing on different areas of the law, including the Family and Child Legal Advocacy Clinic. Under the supervision of lawyers, student attorneys handle civil legal matters such as divorce, child custody, domestic violence, adoption, and guardian ad litem appointments. To request services, contact the clinic office by phone or email. If they are not able to take on your case, they may still be able to provide information on self-help resources, safety planning, domestic violence services in the state, and referrals.
